Chapel Dedication/ 70th Anniversary Celebration

The Fort St. Charles Board of Trustees hosted a mass of celebration on Saturday, September 14, 2019 with Bishop Michael Hoeppner, Crookston Diocese, observing the dedication of a new chapel and the 70th anniversary of the fort restoration work by the Minnesota 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. The event was held on Magnusson Island, the original site of Fort St. Charles.

A new log chapel was constructed by Gerald Phillipe, Phillipe Log Homes, Warrod, MN, replacing the aging chapel that was constructed in 1953. The alter, which was dedicated in 1951, was placed inside the new chapel.
